If you decide to opt for contact lens wear, it is very important that the lenses fit properly and comfortably and that you understand contact lens safety and hygiene. A contact lens exam will include both a comprehensive eye exam to check your overall eye health, your general vision prescription and then a contact lens consultation and measurement to determine the proper lens fit.
Comfortable Contacts To Fit Your Lifestyle
AIR OPTIX® for Astigmatism
Having astigmatism does not mean you have to settle for dryness, discomfort and blurred vision. AIR OPTIX® for Astigmatism contact lenses are specially designed with two unique technologies to give you moisture and consistent comfort.
- Consistent comfort without compromise.
- Consistently clear vision.
- Outstanding visual acuity.
Because lenses for astigmatism require two prescriptions that must stay in place relative to the eye, stability is key to clear, consistent vision. Some contact lenses for astigmatism rotate, which can cause blurry vision, and the buildup of irritating deposits can make them feel dry and less comfortable over time. AIR OPTIX® for Astigmatism contact lenses are different.

Onefit™ Scleral Lens Platform
Blanchard Contact Lenses has pioneered the minimalist approach to scleral lens design and fitting with the Onefit™ Scleral Lens Platform – delivering optimal oxygenation for long-term corneal health with minimal lens mass and tear lens thickness.
Hydrating comfort, crisp, clear visual acuity and superior lens stability make Onefit™ ideal for active individuals and dissatisfied soft toric lens wearers. The Onefit Scleral Lens is unique and specifically designed for corneas with a normal prolate profile, with or without astigmatism, post-graft corneas, as well as irregular corneas including nipple, oval, or fruste keratoconus cases. In addition, we have the Asian design of Onefit, Onefit A, which precisely addresses the physiological nuances of the Asian eye and Onefit Sym-Toric, which is an advanced front toric design for astigmatic patients.
The Onefit Scleral Lens Platform, with a standard diameter of just 14.9mm, and the Onefit A lens with a standard diameter of 14.7mm, simplify the fitting process for a wide range of applications, and minimize both lens thickness and tear layer required to support the lens, while maximizing oxygen transmission to the cornea and stems cells. Onefit lenses are designed to vault a given topography with an optimal sag height and is specified by the value of the base curve in millimeters of radius curvature; streamlining the fitting process and making it more user-friendly.
With a trial set composed of only 14 lenses, practitioners can fit:
- Normal prolate corneas
- Astigmatism (Onefit Sym-Toric)
- Irregular corneas
- Oblate corneas (including oblate multifocal and toric optics)
All Onefit lenses are also available in an oblate design with three Central Clearance Reduction options to satisfy the needs of your post-refractive surgery patients. Multifocal optics that deliver superior visual performance for today’s presbyopes are available in both the prolate and oblate design. An Extra Limbal Clearance design option is also available for the Onefit Scleral Lens Platform (not available with Onefit A, as the design already incorporates the Extra Limbal Clearance option.)
The Onefit A design, for the Asian eye – embraces our same minimalist approach to fitting scleral lenses, while addressing the physiological specificities of Asian eyes. Onefit A lenses need to be ordered from the Onefit A fitting set. With a smaller standard diameter and different paracentral edge geometry, a different fitting set is required to reflect with precision those distinctions.
Onefit Sym-Toric is an advanced front toric design option within the Onefit platform. It was designed to enhance patient comfort, consistency of vision performance, and to greatly simplify the practitioner fitting experience for scleral Astigmatic patients. Sym-Toric utilizes the existing Onefit Scleral Lens Platform diagnostic lens set. (No additional diagnostic fitting set is required).
Onefit Sym-Toric does not rely on the prism ballast or toricity in the haptic, as is typically used to stabilize itself on the ocular surface. While keeping the same edge elevation 360 degrees, the Onefit Sym-Toric posterior surface matches the different radii values of the cornea (similar to a corneal posterior toric lens). The lens is stable and comfortable and does not deprive the cornea of any oxygen due to excessive thickness.
Benefits provided by ALL Onefit lenses include superior comfort, stability of fit, vision that remains consistent throughout the wearing time, reduced glare and starbursts and reduced dryness. These attributes make it an ideal lens for athletes and active wearers, unhappy soft and soft toric lens wearers and intolerant corneal GP wearers. Onefit offers the crisp vision of a GP while providing the comfort of a soft lens.

Bausch + Lomb ULTRA for Astigmatism contact lenses for all-day comfort and consistently clear vision
What is Astigmatism?
Astigmatism, which can occur with myopia or hyperopia, is a condition in which the light entering the eye is not refracted (or bent) equally in all directions. Due to diffences in the curvature of the cornea or lens of the eye, the light has two focal points from two axes often causing blurred near and distance vision. Contact lenses for astigmatism or toric contact lenses are designed to help.
MoistureSeal Technology: Bausch + Lomb ULTRA for Astigmatism contact lenses feature MoistureSeal Technology which maintains 95% of lens moisture for a full 16 hours. Experience all-day comfort and consistently clear vision with Bausch + Lomb ULTRA contact lenses.

SynergEyes patented hybrid lens technology combines the best of both worlds – the crisp, clear vision of a rigid GP lens and the all-day comfort of a soft lens.
SynergEyes® A was SynergEyes’ first hybrid contact lens with FDA-clearance specifically designed for patients with high astigmatism, mildly irregular corneas, or in the early stages of keratoconus. SynergEyes A offers patented hybrid technology–allowing crisp, clear vision with the comfort of a soft lens.
SynergEyes MF was the first SynergEyes hybrid contact lens that offered multifocal optics. The GP optics provided both near and distance vision all in one lens.
SynergEyes® KC was the first hybrid contact lens with FDA-clearance specifically designed for patients with keratoconus. SynergEyes KC offers the benefits of hybrid technology–allowing you to live a productive life with consistent, healthy vision you can count on.
SynergEyes® PS, is a hybrid contact that offers vision correction after having surgery. SynergEyes PS includes SynergEyes’ the patented hybrid technology–allowing you to enjoy all-day comfort and predictable clear vision.
Scleral contact lenses are prescribed by eye care professionals for a variety of irregular cornea conditions. They are designed to vault or rise over the irregular cornea condition and land on the white part of the eye (called the sclera). They are slightly larger (16.0 mm) than hybrid contact lenses (14.5mm) and while hybrid lenses have both rigid and soft materials, the entire scleral lens is made from a gas permeable material.
The SynergEyes VS lens is an innovative scleral lens designed to accommodate a wide variety of corneal conditions. The lens was designed using the latest research on the shape of the eye.
SynergEyes Gas Permeable Contact Lenses
Gas permeable (GP) contact lenses are made from rigid and oxygen permeable contact lens materials. The GP lenses are smaller in size (9.6 to 10.6mm) than hybrid contact lenses (14.5mm) and much smaller than a scleral contact lens (larger gas permeable lens). The SynergEyes gas permeable contact lenses are now available in the United States.
The SynergEyes GP ll lens is an innovative corneal gas permeable contact lens with two innovations: 1) a linear landing zone and 2) a unique tear reservoir.
The tear reservoir, in this larger 10.6 mm lens, allows for increased tear exchange resulting in great comfort. The linear landing zone creates a gentle, comfortable lens edge. The GP ll lens delivers excellent, stable centration and is ideal for patients seeking greater comfort with gas permeable lenses.
- Larger Lens Diameter (10.6mm) than the SynergEyes GP (9.6mm) provides more uniform pressure distribution with minimal edge awareness
- Tear Reservoir Zone provides increased tear circulation
- Ease of adaptation due to decreased lens movement and lens edge awareness
- High Oxygen Permeability from Menicon Z material
